OD = Oculus Dexter, which refers to the right eye.
OS = Oculus Sinister, refers to left
SPH = Sphere or Spherical, refers to the main correction in the prescription. Minus (-) values are for nearsightedness, and Plus (+) values are for farsightedness. If "PL" or "Plano" is written for this value then you should select 0.00 for this field.
CYL = Cylinder, refers to a correction for astigmatism. It can be either positive or negative. A CYL value will always have an Axis value. If "DS" or "SPH" is noted in the CYL space on your prescription, you have no astigmatism in that eye. In that case, enter 0.00 for the CYL and Axis.
AXIS = refers to the angle of the correction for the astigmatism (CYL) in the eye from 1 to 180 degrees. If there is no CYL value then there is no Axis value. The Axis value may be written as 3 digits, which means if your Axis value is 5, it is often written as 005.
Prism-In optometry, prism power refers to the strength of a prism used in eyeglasses to correct double vision or other alignment problems in the eyes. The power is measured in prism diopters, indicating how much the light is bent to correct the alignment.
Want to know the magic portion to a great fitting pair?
It’s your frame size
Here’s a Guide that’ll give you the quickest & easiest route to your best-fitting frames.
Key Note: At EyeMyEye, most of our collections fall under Medium Size Category. This is because our frames are designed keeping in mind an ideal Indian face. In case you’re not sure of your frame size, you can always try buying a medium frame that fits most of the people. However, if you want to be 100% sure, follow any of the ways below to get to that perfect fit.
While we’ve helped millions of happy customers with their perfect frame, yet, in a rare case, if you face any size issues, you can avail our 14-Day No Questions Asked Returns Policy. If you own a well-fitted pair already, try and peek at the insides of the temples to find out the measurements. It would look like a set of numbers which denote lens width, bridge width & temple length respectively. e.g. 52-15-165
In case your frames are older than a year, you might find the numbers faded. This gives doubt a chance and you may end up buying a wrong size.
So let’s have a look at the next simplest way. For this, you will need:
Take cues from the ranges below to avoid any mistakes.
Lens Width/Diameter – The horizontal width of each lens in millimeters. It ranges between 40-62mm.
Bridge Width – The distance between the two lenses in millimeters. It ranges between 14-24mm.
Temple Length – The length from screw to temple tips. It ranges between 110-150mm.
You’d wonder how a clothing guide can help you. But broadly, your regular T-shirt can help you solve this mystery like a pro. Here’s how -
It is likely your face structure would be small too. In general, frames with less than or equal to 50mm of lens-width would fit you easily in case of eyeglasses. For sunglasses the width of 55mm or less should be your choice.
Your spectacles must be 55mm wide or more. In case of shades, this will be 65mm or more.
You can go for frames between 51mm to 54mm of lens-width for eyeglasses and 56mm to 64mm for sunglasses.

In recent years, computer glasses have surged in popularity, addressing the increasing prevalence of prolonged screen exposure. Tailored to alleviate eye strain and fatigue induced by extended screen time and blue light, these glasses serve as a protective barrier for eyes exposed to computer screens.
Whether you're a student, gamer, or office worker, prolonged screen use has become an integral part of daily life, often resulting in digital eye strain, headaches, and sleep disturbances. Designed to mitigate these effects, computer glasses reduce the influx of blue light into the eyes. Also known as blue light glasses, they represent a recent addition to the visual aid market.
Blue light, a component of sunlight and prevalent in electronic devices like smartphones, tablets, and computer screens, is a natural part of the light spectrum. However, excessive exposure to blue light poses risks, particularly to our eyes. According to the American Optometric Association, prolonged exposure to blue light can result in digital eye strain, characterized by symptoms like dry eyes, headaches, and blurred vision. Additionally, it can disrupt sleep patterns, making it challenging to fall asleep at night.
They are not intended solely for vision correction but can also serve as zero power glasses optimized for computer viewing.
Computer specs/glasses feature lenses crafted with a specialized coating that filters out blue light while permitting other wavelengths to pass through. This ensures that the quality of your display remains uncompromised when using these protective glasses. They are beneficial for individuals who spend prolonged hours in front of screens, including students, scientists, programmers, writers, and gamers. Specifically designed to alleviate symptoms of digital eye strain, they are particularly helpful for those experiencing headaches, eye fatigue, or dry eyes after extended electronic device use.
When selecting computer spectacles, it's crucial to opt for a reputable brand that utilizes high-quality lenses. Prioritize glasses specifically designed to filter out blue light, rather than those simply marketed as 'computer glasses.' Additionally, ensure a snug fit on your nose and ears for maximum effectiveness.
EyeMyEye offers a wide range of computer spectacles, as well as anti-glare glasses, reading glasses, zero power glasses, and more, all at attractive price points with substantial discounts available online.
In summary, computer specs are essential for individuals spending extended periods in front of screens. They aid in alleviating digital eye strain and promoting overall eye health by effectively filtering out harmful blue light. When selecting a pair, prioritize high-quality lenses and a comfortable fit. By prioritizing eye care, you can enjoy the benefits of technology without compromising your eye health.
Ans: It depends on the type of computer spectacles you want to buy. If you don't need vision correction, you can buy a pair of non-prescription zero power computer glasses. However, if you need vision correction, then you should get a prescription from an eye doctor.
Ans:Yes, you can wear these glasses all day, but it's recommended that you take breaks and engage in eye exercises to reduce eye strain. Also, if you need to shift your vision between near and far, then it is recommended to remove computer specs periodically.
Ans: Individuals who spend over 2 hours a day in front of a computer or digital screen can derive benefits from computer glasses. This demographic includes office workers, gamers, and students who engage in prolonged computer usage.
Ans: Computer spectacles are specifically designed for use in front of computer screens and are not suitable for driving. Driving glasses, on the other hand, are designed to enhance peripheral vision and reduce glare in various driving conditions.
